Not much is going on these days. Sometimes that's a good thing! I took Baby to an Easter egg hunt at church the other day. It was a bit cold and windy, but that didn't stop Baby from having a good time!
I created this blog as a way to connect with "Hubby/Daddy" as he spent time serving our country in Iraq. He's been home for 8 years but the good 'ole US has called him into service again. I'm dusting this old blog off and using it again-mostly to communicate with him. Enjoy!

Celery and Charlie
We have some new friends. Celery and Charlie. They have been hanging around for a few days now. Celery is a girl and Charlie is a boy. They are two (well, that's not completely true. Saturday they were grown ups, today they are two). And they do a lot of interesting things...like play in the play house with Baby, go to the airport, and eat Mexican food. They even ride in the car and go grocery shopping with us. It's funny to hear Baby talk about them! And every time I ask Baby about them she says, "But I already told you...Celery and Charlie (and fill in the blank here)." I wonder how long they will hang around?! I'm kinda getting a kick outta this pretend friend thing. It's so fun to be 3!

So far, so good
So, about a week ago I became an official "SAHM". Which is stay at home mom. And, so far, so good! Many times I thought about writing about the angst and anxiety I had over deciding to leave my job and stay home. Just never got around to it. Anywho. We actually made the decision in the fall, but I didn't leave until last week due to the work cycle and other details. So, I had some months to dwell on it. And the last few weeks I worked I was really affected by the change.
You might wonder why I left. I really did like my job. Love is a little strong, but I did like it, and it was the perfect job for me for many years. Just over 6. I had a lot of personal change during that time. Fell in love, got married, had a baby, another on the way. It was my constant. I started working part time after Baby arrived, and that was perfect. At times I felt like my job was my sanctuary. I literally couldn't wait to get to work...for some peace and quiet! Oops. Did I admit that?! And I've made such good friends there, too.
But, there is a season for everything. And at this time in my life, this is the ONLY time I can stay home with my babies. I can work again (goody). But stay home with little ones, nope. It's now or never. And it's not that I'm so great at mothering, but I AM the best mother for MY children. Speaking of children...we had a sono yesterday and Little Baby looks great! Still a boy, and on track to be just as giant as his sister. Yea.
But to digress. As it turns out, my anxiety about leaving was short lived. I've not thought once this past week...gee, I wish I was at work. Turns out this SAHM gig ain't so bad. For now, anyway! At this moment Baby is happily playing by herself in her room. I wanted to get out of the house this morning and do a few things, but since she's having such a good time, I'll just put those things off until later...'cause I can!
On to other interesting news. Hubby's truck was ganked! Right from the driveway. Boy did I feel safe coming home and noticing the truck missing. Of course I confirmed with Hubby that he didn't run off to Mexico or anything before phoning the police. And since he was a work, I filed a police report. I really had little expectation of the truck being found, buuuttt...a week later we learned it had been recovered! I'm on my way to the dealership later (it was towed there b/c there seems to be a problem with driving it, due to the fact that the wheels and tires are missing).
OK, that's probably enough news for now!

Birthday Bash!
Check it out! We had so much fun...my "Baby" is three. Wow. How did that happen?! Guess "they" are right...time really does fly.
Anywho. This was Baby's first big party. Up until now we've just had a few folks over to the house, but I really went a little nuts this time. I just wanted to have a big party. So, guess what? We had a big party! With all her school friends and other friends, too.
I'll need to get some photos up here too. The cake was super cute, if I do say so myself. Looked like a barn, including cupcakes decorated like animals!
So, we rented out this party facility place that had animals for petting and even mini golf. I wasn't sure the kids would care about the golf, but they actually did get out there and run around (not so much play golf, tho). Everyone had tons of fun!
