Snow!

I think everyone who reads the blog knows we had quite an unusual weather event by now...12.5 inches of snow! Unheard of. It was fun and pretty, and it really didn't get below freezing much, so it wasn't even that messy. Although most of the city did have a snow day on Friday. We got out and played in it some, although I must admit...I think I remember playing in the snow when I was older. Baby didn't last in it very long before telling me, "I'm freezing!". We just don't have the proper outerwear here. Anyway. It's early now, and I can't sleep, so I thought I'd get up and get on with my day. Or maybe I'll go back to bed. We'll see. Enjoy the videos!

I know what love is

Love is lots of things, and at different times in our lives it can show itself in all kinds of ways. But I'll always know what love is. I'll tell you what love is currently for me.

Love is the banging of a hammer. The hum of a saw, the pop of a nail gun. Yup, that's what is currently saying, "I love you," to me!

You see, probably about a year ago I started asking Hubby to build Baby a playhouse for her 3rd birthday. I thought she'd like to have it and he'd like to build it. I'm pretty sure both of those thoughts are correct. Hubby only had to mark out the location with string for Baby to start hosting pretend parties in it. As the structure evolves, she goes out and plays a little more...dances on the porch, and hangs from the rafters (ok, not really).

And Hubby works harder and harder. He suits up in his thermal coveralls and spends the better part of whole days outside working, even in the cold. Oh sure, I know he enjoys some of the work and getting a "free pass" to spend all that time outside and in the garage. But I'm pretty sure I'm witnessing a labor of love. It might be Baby's birthday present, but I feel like he's building it for me. I love looking outside the window now and again and seeing the progress. Yesterday I had to run out and tell him how much I loved it. You should see the attention to detail! Seriously, this is one well built house. With working windows, a porch, and curved eves. I look at this house and know love. For me, for Baby, for our family. Thank you Hubby!
